Mom Robins pointed out that Lilly turned 14 months the other day, so here's a quick update in her progress.
She is working on her walking, and is able to stand balanced on her own for a few seconds. She can take nice forward steps as long as she has a hand to hold, and she is much quicker and smoother at her furniture-supported "cruising." Today Jill helped her walk up the front porch steps and into the front door. She had the most excited grin on her face! As soon as Lilly got inside, she turned around to head back out. I think she wanted to do it again!
She also continues to show great understanding of words, although she isn't saying any real ones yet. She knows SO much! Yesterday she was busy pulling her books out of a basket I have them stored in on the floor. Soon she was surrounded by books. I asked her, "Lilly, where is Goodnight Moon?" Mind you, the book was laying face down, and it has a very simple black and white back cover. Wouldn't you know, she picked that book right up and handed it to me? She did the same with "Counting Kisses" and with "Brown Bear!" Les and I watched in amazement. She also clapped for herself when she got each one right! (Of course we clapped, too!)

How tiny she looks in the wagon compared to now. She's a smart little gal. Pretty soon she'll be reading those books by herself. She's growing and learning so fast now. It's good that you're documenting and taking lots of pictures.

She knows and understands a lot! Remember when she was eating breakfast and I mentioned getting her some fruit. She wouldn't eat any more of whatever she had, because she wanted to get the fruit. She also knows her animals and can identify them with the animal pictures in a book, like the elephant and the alligator. She'll be telling you all about it before long.
